MAP360/ REMEMBERING MONROE PROJECT
ABOUT US
Since 2018, MAP360 has been active every year, producing landmark public art, funding artists, enriching students, and archiving community stories. Our consistency itself is a statement of values.
OUR MISSION
The mission of MAP360 is to inspire a community renaissance through the creative arts. Hyperlocal in its roots. Wholly global in its reach.
Our Vision
MAP360 envisions a world where the arts, as a universal expression of the human spirit, reaches across cultural, social, and economic divides to deepen compassion, understanding, and our shared humanity.
When we imagine together, we creatE exponentially.
Our values
These are the beliefs that shape every decision MAP360 makes -- what we fund, whose stories we tell, how we show up, and what we refuse to compromise:
Community First
Everything begins and ends with community. We arrive in every space with curiosity and respect. Community is not our audience — it is our author.

Art as Transformation
Art is the most powerful force for human change. It is life made visible — the language communities use to process their past, imagine their future, and see themselves clearly.
Storytelling as Living History
Every community carries untold stories that are essential to our shared humanity. MAP360 creates the conditions for those stories to be told, honored, and preserved — as living history, a record of who we are and who we are becoming.
Equity and Access
Great art should belong to everyone. We are committed to ensuring that overlooked communities have equal access to resources, platforms, and recognition. Where opportunity has been withheld, we work to restore it.
International Bridge Building
Art speaks a language that crosses every border. The most locally rooted work often resonates globally. We build bridges between the hyperlocal and the wholly global — because Montgomery’s stories belong to the world.
Collaboration Across Mediums
The most powerful art happens at the intersection. We bring together artists, disciplines, generations, and communities who might otherwise never meet. Creative collision produces what none of us could make alone.
Long-Term Impact Over Short-Term Hype
We are here for the movement, not the moment. We invest patiently in communities, relationships, and artists. Real transformation takes time. We measure our success in lives changed, communities strengthened, and stories told that will outlast us.
When we imagine together, we create exponentially.
Heading 4
“What they’ve done here in Montgomery has had tremendous impact. I see it everyday. The opportunities they’ve provided for artists of color are invaluable and deeply important to me, particularly those opportunities they’ve given to young Black women artists. When I was in school, the expectations on women severely curtailed how much time they could spend perfecting their craft. Today, artists like Toni Toney and Michelle Browder get to pursue their passions as arduously and often more seriously than their male peers. I am really heartened by and grateful for the opportunities MAP360 has helped make possible.”
