KRESS COMMUNITY ROOM

Give community space and "good trouble"happens.  In 2018, MAP360 made available a flexible 2000+  square foot "Community Room"  to be utilized on an ongoing basis by local non profit groups for exhibitions, meetings, symposiums, performance and celebration.   It  ignighted  over 78 community-led grass roots gatherings, until COVID shuttered the space  in 2020.
Due to its profound impact fueling Montgomery's creative culture, MAP360 plans to relaunch the Kress Community Room April,  2026.  More details to be announced soon.

STUDENT ENRICHMENT

For every activation, MAP360 considers how it can engage student learning, development, opportunity.  That engagement takes on many forms--from artist school visits, and  student exhibitions, to learning units on lighting & sound design.  At present, MAP360 has reached over 2106 students with our educational initiatives.  MAP360 knows the creative arts can change a young person's life, and we believe in the motto, "if you see it, you can be it."  That is why establishing a Children's Museum in Montgomery matters,  That is why having a choir of 85 students sing the finale  at American Revival Montgomery with Yo Yo Ma & Friends is intentional.

For the first time, I felt like a public arts project in Montgomery really hit the bullseye [referring to Inside Out]…This piece was up for almost a year, and everyday, I’d see people trying to find themselves, and in that discovery find others. They started laughing, telling stories. It was a really beautiful participatory moment.
