2GETHER COLLABORATION GRANTS

What emerges when creative people come together in unexpected ways?  MAP360 designed this micro grant program for projects that cross boundaries—between art forms, cultures, generations, professions, etc.   With a total of three micro grants available, this initiative will support three cross collaborations.  Each creative team is paired with an emerging filmmaker, who documents the essence of their creative interplay in short film. 2026 applications due April 30th

CREATIVE CATALYST AWARD

The Creative Catalyst Award is an annual $25,000 unrestricted award recognizing an artist whose work demonstrates artistic excellence, a deep commitment to place and people, and a proven ability to catalyze long-term cultural impact through collaboration, exchange, and community-centered practice. The award is designed to support artists at a pivotal moment in their career—offering trust, flexibility, and recognition rather than project-based requirements.

January 2026, MAP360 announced Kalonji Gilchrist as its first Creative Catalyst recipient.  We hope this award proves to be a public acknowledgment of our respect, appreciation and gratitude for the role creative catalysts play in Montgomery — and of our belief in what they will continue to build.

VISITING ARTIST EXCHANGE

Through partnership with UAF Urban Art Fair Paris,  ten  Montgomery artists were invited to participate  at the  2025 show.  The cohort was flown to Paris to participate in the full fair  experience, including  the premiere of the doc film, Searching for Simorgh.   With their work showcased on a 60 ft, display at Carreau Du Temple, the exhibition was a powerful representation of Montgomery's talent, perspective and promise.

LIVE PERFORMANCES

MAP360 strives to give artists the stage and the mic.   Recently MAP360  co-produced American Revival Montgomery --a show conceived by Nicholas Ma, featuring Montgomery talents Jonathan Michael and Electric Blue Yonder, alongside world renowned cellist
Yo Yo Ma, actress Alfre Woodard, musical artists Arrested Development, Valerie June and more.  The free concert culminated with a  85 student choir.   In partnership with  Troy TV,  MAP360 edited  the unforgettable live show into a 90 minute special that continues to air on  Alabama Public Television.

MAP RESIDENCY

In 2024, the MAP Gallery in residency program began with 1600 square feet at 1 Court Square. The inaugural recipients, Artist RC Hagans and Arts Organization 21 Dreams Arts & Culture shared the gallery space. Over 12 months they activated  multiple shows, workshops, and a podcast series, "Under the Influence".   In October 2025 the MAP Gallery residency was awarded  to Cecilia Garnier, for her sustained campaign to open a Children's Museum in Downtown Montgomery.  The Gallery will serve as CMM's  pop up location while the new museum is under construction.

COMMISSIONS

Because MAP360 endeavors to foster a broader network of stakeholders that embrace the work of emerging southern artists, we continue to serve  as non-profit agent for custom commissions.
MAP360 is grateful for AUIX's recent commission of 2 original murals at their headquarters by Alabama artists Emma Gilbert and Akachi.

MAP360 has been proximate to artists including myself, and have seen what we can do with a crumb. If you’re proximate

with the people, providing the resources, and making the introductions; it’s that simple.”
