Jayla Poe

Jayla Poe is a Birmingham, Alabama–based painter whose work breathes life into the stories of women of color. A graduate of Alabama State University with a Bachelor of Arts, Jayla merges bold color, fluid form, and surrealist elements to transform the canvas into a space where reality and imagination meet. Her paintings celebrate identity, resilience, and beauty while offering a dreamlike lens through which viewers can experience Black womanhood in its many layers. Each piece invites the audience to pause, reflect, and find meaning beyond the surface, making her art both personal and universal.
