Children’s Museum of Montgomery slated for construction downtown- MAP360
pop-up residency also confirmed.
Property owner, ELSAJA Montgomery 136 LLC and the Children's Museum of
Montgomery confirm that an agreement has been reached for 136 & 142 Montgomery
Street to become the site for a new Children's Museum of Montgomery. Design plans
are underway to link the Montgomery Street properties into one three level space
(approx. 15,690 sq. ft.) by Brown Studio Architecture. CMM also announces starting
October 2025, it will have "pop-up" presence at the MAP360 Gallery @ 1 Court Square
as the 2025/2026 visiting arts org in residence.
The MAP360 Gallery is located across the street from CMM's future flagship location.
At the MAP360 Gallery, CMM willconduct engagement, programming & development
support for the new Museum. "Establishing a Children's Museum in Montgomery continues
to be my long-held dream and passion, said CMM Founder Cecilia Garnier.
"We have an obligation to create environments for our youngest citizens that will inspire their
young minds, foster their creativity and ignite their love for learning. I am thrilled we are building
a flagship environment that, through the power of play, will express this ethos fully."
