Alisa Beck

N/A

Alisa Beck is a Montgomery, Alabama-based artist, educator, curator, and community arts
advocate whose work is rooted in creating opportunities for artists to share their work, continue
learning, and connect with one another through community. A graduate of Huntingdon College
with a BFA, she has built a career that combines her own studio practice with teaching,
mentoring, curating, and supporting other artists.
For more than 30 years, Beck has been actively involved in Montgomery’s arts community
through arts leadership, jurying local shows, curating projects, developing educational
programming, and creating workshops, artist opportunities, and public events. Across these
roles, her focus has remained consistent: helping artists find meaningful ways to develop their
work, be seen, and become part of a larger creative community.
Beck currently serves as curator of Through the Lens: Jewell’s Light, celebrating the life and
photographic legacy of Jewell Cobb Pitts. Having known Jewell as a friend, she brings both
curatorial experience and a personal understanding of the warmth, generosity, and love of
people that defined Jewell’s life and photography
